Dr. P. Selvaraj, a Philanthropist and Pioneer in the Poultry Industry established Selvam Arts and Science College in 2000 under the auspicious of V. Ponnusamy Educational and Charitable Trust, which was formed in the fond memory of his late father. The college is fully Self
– Supporting and it has been founded to serve the youth of the predominantly, underprivileged and downtrodden families in the neighborhood.
Selvam College of Physical Education was started B. P.E d Degree Course in the year 2006
– 2007. B. P. E – Degree Course was started in the year 2007 – 2008, M. P. Ed – Degree Course was started in the year 2008 – 2009 and M. Phil Research Program started in the year 2010 – 2011.
- P. E – Degree Course was restructured as a B. P. E. S – Degree Course in the Academic Year 2016 – 2017 onwards all the courses were affiliated to Tamil Nadu Physical Education Sports University. To closely collaborate and coordinate with the Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University in Physical Education and Sports in matters of common interest and concern. The management is giving every year the Meritorious Scholarship for outstanding sports performance in Sports and Games.
